Joey, the lovable cat who was once a foster failure, used to be a bit shy around other foster kittens. However, thanks to Grace from Boomer’s Buddies Rescue, he has transformed into a loving Uncle figure for the kittens. Previously labeled as aggressive, Joey now seeks love and affection from everyone he meets. When Joey first came into Grace’s care, she had hoped he would bond with the foster kittens. Now, Joey is a true love bug, providing affection to both the kittens and his tabby brother, Kitty Boy. Despite his unique appearance, with two small front paws, Joey holds his own in playful wrestling matches with Kitty Boy. Although Joey may look like a little grandpa, he moves around with surprising agility, despite his congenital defect that prevents his front legs from forming properly. Affectionately nicknamed “Kangaroo,” Joey shuffles and moves with ease, showing that nothing can hold him back from living life to the fullest.

Kitty Boy affectionately licks Joey, who initially pretended not to want pets when the foster kittens arrived. However, Joey’s heart melted when he met Pipsqueak, a foster kitten. Now he is fully invested in caring for the adorable furbabies, remaining patient with their playful shenanigans. According to Grace, Joey is thriving in his role as an uncle to the kittens. With two resident cats to assist in socializing the foster babies, they are learning cat etiquette and behaviors, increasing their chances of finding loving homes in the future. Recently, Grace welcomed Pipsqueak, a tiny grey kitten, into her home from the shelter. Believing Pipsqueak to be only 3 weeks old, Grace was surprised to discover she was closer to 6 weeks old. Hungry and underweight, Pipsqueak needs to be nourished back to health. “Pipsqueak may be small and skinny now, but I’m determined to help her gain weight quickly!” Grace stated, emphasizing her commitment to the kitten’s well-being.

Immediately, Joey’s excitement was palpable as he met the newest addition to the foster family of kittens. Grace managed to capture the heartwarming moment on video as Joey showered the little kitten with kisses. It seemed as if they were having a delightful conversation, which Grace captured perfectly in her video. “Uncle Joey is just overflowing with love for all the kittens in foster care ❤️” In a matter of days, Joey had already claimed the new kitten as his own and had completely fallen head over heels in love. His affection for Pipsqueak was so evident that he would even do somersaults in excitement every time he saw the tiny bundle of fur.

Joey is absolutely convinced that his pet is the most adorable in the whole wide world! He adores little Pipsqueak so much that he can’t help but do a little happy dance whenever he catches a glimpse of her. Despite all of her playful kitten shenanigans, Joey has been incredibly patient with her as she grows. However, the time will soon come for Pipsqueak to find a new place to call home.

In a previous post, we talked about how Grace rescued a once feral and hostile cat named Potato. Without her help, Potato would have had a bleak future in the shelter. However, thanks to Grace’s kindness, care, and empathy, Potato underwent a remarkable transformation in just seven weeks, becoming a sweet and loving companion. Currently, Potato is still in search of a forever home in the Los Angeles region. To keep up with Joey and the adorable foster kittens, make sure to check out Kitty Boy’s Instagram or TikTok pages.
